X11BASE error message when adding a port with options enabled

First off, thanks for the very useful ports-mgmt/tinderbox port. I've
been a long time user as I have a few underpowered machines where I
always use packages. I am also using it in my little project here:
I recently installed the latest version in two amd64 machines to run
64bit builds for the first time. I have always used the 32bit version up
to now. I am always compiling ports using custom options - I enter them
interactively by using the -O option in addPort.
Both hosts error out with these messages:
# ./tc addPort -b 8.0-XFCE -d shells/bash -O
Generating options for 8.0-XFCE; hit Enter to continue...
X11BASE is now deprecated. Unset X11BASE in make.conf and try again.
*** Error code 1 (continuing)
Any ideas? I searched the list archive for X11BASE but nothing I've
tried made any difference.
